School Services

We've gone MOBILE!

We're still in the process of building out the new unit, but for all intents and purposes we now have a mobile repair shop to meet the needs of schools in our community.  This is not a replacement for the main facility, but rather an extension of services.

There are some limits.

We're not planning on driving a regular route. Traveling an hour or two just to fix one flute is not a good use of time or resources.
We will not have chemical clean or sonic washing capabilities on the bus.  Think of the problems with carrying a big tub and two 55 gallons of hazardous chemicals down the highway.
We will not be doing overhauls, repads, or COA work on the bus.  Those are jobs that require a number of hours to complete.  A flute repad would take most of the school day so very little other work could be done.  Triage and Play Conditions only.

That said, the advantages are still tremendous.
On the spot repairs as able.
Less down time.
Keeping the instruments in students' hands instead of waiting on repair shelves.

The deal is we will setup in your county at one location on an agreed upon day. All county schools, middle or high can take their repairs to that one location before we arrive so once we setup we can get to work and complete as much as possible for a flat fee. Repairs that cannot be done on site, have the option of coming back to the main shop at regular shop rates.

What could be better?

The fee schedule is the following:

By the hour:  $150.00 per hour with a three-hour minimum.
By the day:  $750 for the day (7-8 hours)
Basic parts are included, with the exception of some brass parts, such as piston components, leadpipes, necks and bits, etc.

We are available for auditions days, band camps, festivals, and other band events.
Marching competitions are still free, but those will be triage/field repairs only.

CLINICS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS

The techs at CWBR are well versed in clinic presentations. From instrument maintenance for students to professional development for band directors, we have customized educational opportunities to fit a variety of audiences. Lectures to hands-on classes, please let us know what you need.

Rent da' Washer.

Band directors have the option to rent the use of the sonic machine and clean their own inventory to save budget money. This is by appointment and only for school instruments. This is not an offer for individuals for personal instruments.  If a director decides to use this option, the charge is $45.00 per instrument.  If any work is needed and requested from the technician, the instrument will move from the Band Director's bench to the Tech's bench at full shop prices. CWBR is not responsible for DIY repairs or cleanings.
